Respiratory Therapist- Washington County (per diem)

The Respiratory Therapist will direct, supervise, evaluate and provide respiratory therapy services to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.
Primary Functions:
Perform preventive, maintenance and rehabilitative airway related techniques and procedures as ordered by the physician.
Treat the patients using a variety of treatments which may include the application of medical gases, humidity and aerosols, intermittent positive pressure, continuous artificial ventilation, or the administration of drugs through inhalation.
Instruct the patient and family in the patient's total respiratory therapy program.
Consult with other health care professionals in planning care for the patients.
Attend staff meetings, inservice presentations and case conferences.
Write clinical notes on the date of the visit to be placed in the patient's record.
Participate in the development and periodic revision of the physician's plan of treatment based on an initial assessment and periodic reevaluations.
Other duties as assigned Employees are required to accept any job assignment, including those with clients who have pets and/or smoke in the home.
Working conditions may expose field staff to disagreeable sights, odors, body wastes, communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens, smoke, pets, and other allergens.
Potentially hazardous materials such as those found in cleaning agents and other chemicals may be stored in a client's home.
Required Skills Strong computer skills and the ability to use Agency's EMR program.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work independently, and complete paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion.
Must comply with privacy and HIPPA laws.
Must be respectful of the patient's rights and treat a client and his/her belongings with dignity and respect.
Valid driver's license & car w/current insurance coverage & in good working condition available to use for work.
Must be willing to travel throughout assigned county.
Willingness to submit to physical examination, criminal background and drug testing.
Required Experience Must hold a Bachelor's degree, Associates degree, a certificate or diploma in respiratory therapy from an accredited program and have successfully passed the National Board for Respiratory Care examination at the registered or certified level Job Location Hudson Falls, New York, United States Position Type PRN.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
